Wiki,Biography,Personal Life

Shasta is a professional golfer who was born in Flint, Michigan. She began playing golf at the age of seven. With strong family support, she proceeded to develop her passion of competing through the junior and amateur divisions, where she began to win several tournaments.

This led her to Jackson State University, where she majored in business with a focus on accounting. She won nine college golf events at JSU, including four individual SWAC conference titles, setting a conference record of six under par.

Shasta got her LPGA Tour card in 2011, becoming the fourth African American woman to do so. She has won four mini tour events and qualified for the US Women’s Open during her professional career. She competed on the LPGA Symetra Tour for a time, where she earned the 2012 LPGA Symetra Tour Rising Star Award.

Shasta opted to leave the game in 2014 to pursue her accounting expertise as a tax associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. She realized how much she missed playing on tour during her third year at the company and chose to re-enter the LPGA Tour.

For the 2017 season, she collaborated with Women of Color Golf, an organization devoted to promote diversity and inclusion in the sport of golf for women and girls via different possibilities such as teaching, on-course play, and networking, to mention a few.

After finishing her LPGA Symetra Tour season in 2018, she returned to her alma mater, Jackson State University, where she was honored into the JSU Sports Hall of Fame.

She put her distance off the tee to good use in 2020 when she played in the Capital Long Drive Classic, which was hosted by the Golf Channel. Shasta is currently participating on the LPGA Symetra Tour for the 2021 season. In between competitions, Shasta participates in a variety of panel discussions on topics such as women in sports, golf, HBCUs, and health/wellness.

Shasta likes traveling, visiting local coffee shops, playing other sports, reading, aiding with animal care, and enjoying the journey of life when she is not on the golf course!
