Personal Statement
I’ve learned how to utilize my dyslexia to my advantage. This difference has actually aided my personal development by requiring me to persevere and work incredibly hard on my academics. Dyslexia has instilled in me a strong work ethic. I know how to diligently pursue my goals. I am dedicated and self-motivated, and I go above and beyond. I strive to lead by example and have served as team captain for gymnastics and diving. I give my all in both academics and athletics. I am a three-sport athlete who has qualified for state competition in diving, gymnastics, and track and field. Diving is my strongest sport, as I was an All-American in high school and a two-time state champion as a sophomore and junior. I would prefer a medium-to-large school with a diverse student body and a strong athletic program. I am contemplating a major in science or sports management.
