Who is Laura Okmin? Laura Okmin is a veteran NFL reporter for FOX and works with play-by-play announcer Kevin Kugler and analyst Chris Spielman to call games throughout the season. Okmin joined FOX Sports Network in 2002 as a presenter/reporter and has held numerous jobs in the FOX family ever since. She is currently a reporter for the NFL at FOX and a reporter for the two pregame shows of FOX, FOX NFL SUNDAY and FOX NFL KICKOFF. It has covered the biggest names on the biggest stages for more than two decades, including more than 10 Super Bowls, two Olympic Games, several NBA Finals, World Series and MLB All-Star Games.

Laura was the AFC reporter for FOX Sports during the division playoffs in 2018-2019. It also provides analysis for Westwood One’s national NFL radio games on Thursday night and Monday night, as well as for the NFL playoffs. In addition to FOXSports.com coverage of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Okmin has hosted three national FSN shows while also being a reporter for the BCS Bowl Games of Orange and Fiesta.

To create and develop its own content, Okmin LO Productions started producing PROfiles, a 30-minute series in which NFL personalities were introduced from the field and aired on FSN. She moderated the series and acted as executive producer. She secured VIZIO as title sponsor, booked each guest and wrote each episode.

Previously, Okmin worked for TNT / TBS Sports (2002-2003), where she moderated the coverage of the Braves and Thrashers as a reporter for the NBA playoffs. She spent five years at CNN as a reporter and moderator anchoring the network’s major sports shows, “CNN Early Edition,” “CNN Morning News,” “Page One” and “NBA Today” (1997-2002), which were simulated daily on CNN and CNNSI. After graduating in journalism from the University of Kansas, Okmin began her broadcasting career as a sports reporter/anchor in Montgomery, Ala., Chattanooga, Tennessee, and on the sports and sports channel in Chicago, where she traveled during her time with the Chicago Bulls. During her stay in Chicago, she received the Chicago Midwest Emmy for outstanding achievements in sports – individual program for sports.

In honor of her late mother, Okmin wrote a children’s book called “Mommy Has Cancer”, which was published in 2002. Her other passion is to educate and mentor young women who hold seminars with their company GALvanize across the country. She also conducts media training for professional athletes, coaches, NFL and MLB teams, and business people. Okmin also sits on the board of trustees of the William Allen White Journalism School at the University of Kansas and is a member of the advisory board of the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission.
