Erica Lukes is a UFO researcher and podcaster. She is the former state director for the Utah chapter of the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) and a MUFON field investigator. She is currently the head of Unexplained Utah, an organization dedicated to UAP scientific research – also known as Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, and team leader on a research program called “Project Orange.” This project is specifically dedicated to studying observations and clusters of orange / red spheres (also known as fireballs).
Both Utah’s famed Skinwalker Ranch and the surrounding areas have a strong, and enduring, interest in Erica. She has collected decades of case reports from this area, and in particular regarding massive UFO sightings as well as mysterious animal mutilations and alien abductions.
Erica is an artist, as well as an accomplished, licensed, professional singer. She is the lead vocalist for many of Utah’s top bands. She performed at the 2002 Winter Olympics. In addition, Erica has participated in voice-over productions, and she has worked in the fields of radio and television.
Erica has appeared on numerous radio-based talk shows, including The Richard Dolan Show; Ground Zero, with Clyde Lewis; Open Minds; Fringe Radio; The Martin Willis Show; Truth Theorem Radio; and the Paracast. Erica also guest-hosted MUFON Radio.
Lecture: The Utah UFO Enigma
Utah has long been a place of High Strange. With places like the famous Skinwalker Ranch and thousands of acres dedicated to top-secret government testing projects, Utah is a place ripe with UAP activity.
For decades, UAP activity has been widespread and well documented in Utah. Unsurprisingly, Utah is also home to thousands of acres of secret government facilities. Dugway Proving Ground is now finally truly exposed with possibly hundreds of miles of underground tunnels and is referred to as Utah’s Area 51. Activity is well documented in areas such as Skinwalker Ranch, the Salt Lake Valley, Dugway Proving Ground, Tooele Army Depot, West Desert Bombing Range , Hill Air Force Base, Salt Lake International Airport and the National Security Agency Facility between Salt Lake City and Provo. With residents, as well as commercial and military pilots, having reported activity in conjunction with government facilities shrouded in secrecy, what threat, if any, does it pose to aviation and civil security?
Erica Lukes will share new details about a pivotal Project Blue Book case involving a pilot and ground testifying. This case clearly shows the government’s knowledge of UAP activity and in particular its military presence in Utah. She will also speak about recent massive sightings taking place over the Salt Lake Valley, as well as her award-winning American Airlines case.
Erica Lukes’ passion for the subject of Unidentified Flying Objects dates back to her early childhood. After a series of personal UFO sightings in 2013, Erica felt compelled to find out what was happening in her home state of Utah. She joined MUFON, the Mutual UFO Network, started out as MUFON Field Investigator and later was named Utah State Director for MUFON.
She is now communications director of the International Association of UAP Researchers. Both Utah’s famed Skinwalker Ranch and the surrounding areas have a strong, and enduring, interest in Erica. She has collected decades of case reports from this area covering massive UFO sightings, mysterious animal mutilations and alien abductions. She is also the host of Friday Night’s UFO Classified on KCOR.
Erica Lukes was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. Professionally, she’s been a Pilates instructor for over 20 years, but is also an accomplished singer, having performed with successful Utah bands like “The Groove,” “Straight, No Chaser,” and “Zion Tribe.”
As a result
background, Erica performed with “Straight, No Chaser” at the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City. After a family trait, she is an experienced artist, specializing in figure and landscape paintings. Her work has been exhibited and sold. Her father, R. Jeffrey Blackburn, specializes in spectacular Southwestern and Western landscape art for which he is known in the art world.
Erica Lukes also has an undying passion for the mysteries of the universe, especially UFO reports and other strange aerial phenomena. Since childhood, she has been fascinated by images of how vehicles and creatures from outer space might appear and she pursued this interest calmly but with determination. Because of her already established skills with singing and some
voice-over production, she was approached to perform media broadcasting work.
This, coupled with her long-standing interest in strange natural phenomena, led her to take her first steps in radio in 2014 by developing her own programming and interviewing techniques of well-known figures in this topic. UFO reports became her specialty and she joined the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) in 2014 as a field researcher. She eventually became state director for Utah. Within MUFON she also became an associate producer for the MUFON
Communications team and part of the MUFON Experiencer Research Team, which has been cited for recognition of this work at both the 2014 and 2015 MUFON Symposia.
In 2014 she was the lead investigator of the American Airlines 434 UFO incident of the same year. The report was notable for radar and audio data attesting to a large unknown flying object passing beneath the airliner while in flight. The report was ranked as one of Mufon’s “Top Ten” cases for 2014.
In addition, Erica was a team leader for “Project Orange,” a program to study so-called “Balls of Light” phenomenon that have ramifications in real world science in the form of ball lightning and other peculiar luminous phenomena. An offshoot of this was research into the luminous ball phenomena in Hessdalen, Norway, where she conducted on-site research under the direction of Hessdalen scientist Dr. Erling Strand. Hessdalen has been the site of strange luminous balls of light since the 1980s.
With her proximity to the state of Utah, Erica has a continuing interest in the Skinwalker Ranch, a site of regularly reported paranormal activity. She has accumulated several decades worth of case reports of massive UFO sightings, alien abduction reports and animal mutilations from her years of field research in and around the ranch.
In more recent years, and because of the information mass that she has accumulated, she has chosen to specialize in archiving the UFO subject matter, finding rare and out-of-print books, magazines, audio and video recordings and other ephemeris in an effort to create a regional library for use by researchers in the western US. She recently visited field universities to study their companies from early UFO researchers and “phenomenologists” such as those of the late Dr. Frank Salisbury of the Department of Plant Science at Utah State University. Salisbury has done important work on UFO reports in Utah with the help of “Junior” Hicks, a well-known UFO
