David Perdue: Bio, Net Worth, Age, Wiki

David Alfred Perdue Jr is a politician and business executive from the United States, served from 2015 to 2021 as a senator from Georgia. He belongs to the Republican Party. After twelve years as a management consultant, Perdue became Reebok’s senior vice president and eventually its CEO. Later, he joined the North Carolina textile company, PillowTex. Later, he became Dollar General’s CEO. Perdue ran for the US Senate for the first time in 2014, defeating Michelle Nunn, the daughter of former US Senator Sam Nunn, who was the Democratic candidate. In 2020, Perdue ran for re-election but lost to Democratic Party member and former investigative journalist and filmmaker Jon Ossoff. No candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote in the election on November 3, so they fought again in the runoff on January 5, 2021. Ossoff declared victory on the morning of January 6 and was selected as the winner by the mainstream media later that day. Perdue surrendered on January 8th. He is also an established business executive, having previously worked for Reebok and Dollar General, among others. Georgia Governor Perdue is a candidate for the 2022 election.

Georgia Governor in 2022: Trump backs him up!

David Perdue, one of Trump’s first and most vocal supporters, has been endorsed by the former president in the 2022 Georgia Governor’s elections.

Last week, the former US Senator launched his campaign to unseat Brian Kemp. Kemp is in Trump’s sights in 2020 because he didn’t back up Trump’s false claims that President Biden’s win was “fraudulent.”

But David Perdue seems to be having trouble, since his campaign has only a small fraction of the support that Kemp’s has.

“I believe Perdue is on life support and is aware of it,” said an anonymous neutral GOP operative. “The Kemp momentum is palpable,” he continued.

Personal life

Perdue, who was born on December 10, 1949, is 72 years old. Gervasie Perdue and David Perdue Sr. raised him in Macon, Georgia. In August 1972, he married Bonnie Dunn and they had three children: a daughter who died in infancy and two sons, Blake Perdue and David A. Perdue III. Perdue and his family currently reside in Sea Island, Georgia.

Early life and education

Perdue was born in Macon, Georgia, and grew up in Warner Robins, Georgia. He graduated from Northside High School in 1968 and later attended the United States Air Force Academy upon appointment by the Air Force.

Georgia Congressman Jack Brinkley. Later, he transferred to Georgia Tech, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering in 1972. In 1975, he earned a master’s degree in operations research.

Perdue began his career in 1972 with Kurt Salmon Associates, an international consulting firm. He was employed by them for 12 years, until 1984. Perdue worked for a variety of organizations between 1984 and 1998. He joined Reebok as a senior vice president in 1998 and is credited with revitalizing the company’s sneaker line. He eventually ascended to the positions of president and, later, CEO.

Perdue joined PillowTex as CEO in 2002, but left the following year to become CEO of Dollar General.

Senate career in the U.S.

During the 2014 U.S. Senate elections, Perdue entered the political arena. As a Republican who was running for office, he talked a lot about his business experience, especially at Dollar General.

“In a very short period of time, we added approximately 2,200 stores, created nearly 20,000 jobs, and more than doubled the value of that company.” During his campaign, Perdue said, “It’s not because of me, but because we listened to our customers and employees.”

Senator David Perdue was elected with 52.8 percent of the vote, defeating Democrat Michelle Nunn.

Several times during his career, Perdue found himself in the hot seat. He made a dig at then-President Barack Obama in June 2016, saying, “We should pray for Barack Obama.” But I believe we must be very specific about how we pray. Psalms 109:8 instructs us to pray. At the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Road to Majority conference, it says, “Let his days be few, and let another have his office.”

When asked about voter suppression by a student during a visit to Georgia Tech in October 2018, Perdue snatched the student’s phone, which was recording the exchange. A civil suit was filed by the student, alleging unlawful battery.

Before Fame

He began his college career at the United States Air Force Academy before transferring to Georgia Tech. He got his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering from the school in 1972 and 1975, respectively.

Between 1998 and 2002, he was the president and CEO of Reebok, where he revitalized the company’s brand by negotiating a deal with the NFL. He went on to become the CEO of PillowTex and Dollar General.

Family Life

His wife, Bonnie, and he have two sons and three grandchildren. Sonny Perdue is his first cousin.
