With Jenny’s eye for Dave’s design and skill and general hiring experience, the couple restored more than 300 homes in their area. But in addition to their work on the program and with their local company Marrs Developing, Jenny and Dave are passionate about various causes around the world, including community transformation, family preservation and orphan care. Their hearts are present in everything they do. Here are 12 things you may not know about hgtv’s Fixer to Fabulous couple, Dave and Jenny Marrs.

How did the couple first met?
After graduating from college in 2002, Dave received a job offer from Rubbermaid from Newell Brands, as told About You. It was through this role at Newell Brands that he met Jenny, who worked in a different department. The two quickly became close; however, Dave’s work profile required him to move and travel frequently. The couple dated a long distance for a while until they decided to take the next step.

In 2004, Dave left his job at the company and decided to move to Arkansas to pursue construction – which occupied a special place in his heart as he grew up building wooden huts in Colorado with his father. “So I made the corporate world for two years, which was enough. This allowed me to meet Jenny… but I just got sick of it,” he told the outlet. “When I said I was going to start building again, Jenny took a big leap of faith and said we’d try Arkansas for a few years,” he recalled.

Sixteen years later, Dave, a Colorado native, and Jenny, who comes from Florida, never left Arkansas. “I think, as a lot of people do here, we came for a period and realized how great a place is, Jenny said.” This is our house.

When did they get married?
Jenny and Dave married on April 2, 2005. “Thank you for being my main boyfriend forever and ever, Mr. Marrs. I’m so glad I stole you,” she wrote on Instagram in 2017 for her 12th wedding anniversary.

Living in a farmhouse since 1906
In a blog post titled “These Walls,” Jenny remembered the day in 2012 when Dave took her and her two children at the time to take a look at an old farmhouse he had been asked to demolish. The house was an eyesore, but the couple knew they needed to save her.

That said, they had to physically move the dilapidated farmhouse to another place quickly as it was on its way to becoming a parking lot. Fortunately, Dave had bought an empty plot of land in the neighborhood for some time. Although he originally purchased this land with no vision, it became the starting point for the couple’s first major restoration project, as well as where they would raise their new family.

How old are their children?
Currently, the HGTV stars have five children together: one-year-old Luke, five-year-old Charlotte, seven-year-old Sylvie, and twins Nathan and Ben, nine.

Jenny and Dave’s Birthday and Age
Jenny Marrs was born on January 24, 1979. She is currently 41 years old. Dave Marrs was born on February 26, 1980. He’s currently 40.

Blueberry farm to help children in Zimbabwe
Jenny and Dave’s berry farm, aptly named The Berry Farm, is not just a place for locals to come and harvest their own fresh fruit and/or organize special events on the farm’s spacious grounds. As Jenny writes on the Marrs Developing blog, they started the red fruit farm “as a way to provide educational skills and opportunities for orphaned and at-risk teenagers in Marondera, Zimbabwe.”

In particular, blueberry is very symbolic for the couple, as it is a culture that will continue to bear fruit for a long period of time. As the farm’s website notes, “if you nourish the berries and properly care for them, your investment will last decades.” This is similar to “the way we are investing in the lives of the children in our program.”
