Bobby Hull is regarded as one of the best hockey players in history. His blonde hair, skating speed, scoring prowess, end-to-end rushes, and ability to shoot the puck at extremely high velocities earned him the nickname “The Golden Jet.”

Bobby Hull was a well-known Canadian professional ice hockey player who was born in Point Anne, Belleville, Canada, on January 3, 1939.

He became interested in ice hockey at a young age and had a strong debut season, finishing second in the Calder Memorial Trophy.

As a Black Hawk, he initially wore numbers 16 and 7, but later switched to his famous number 9, a tribute to his childhood idol Gordie Howe, a Canadian professional ice hockey player (born March 31, 1928—died June 10, 2016).

Hull rose through the ranks to become one of the sport’s most sought-after players. During his 23-year NHL career, he played for the Chicago Blackhawks, Winnipeg Jets, and Hartford Whalers.

Hull finished his NHL career with 1,063 games played, 610 goals, 560 assists, 1,170 points, and 640 penalty minutes. The Black Hawks, Jets, and Arizona Coyotes have all retired his No. 9 jersey.

He was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1978 and inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1983. After getting the Wayne Gretzky International Award in 2003, Bobby was named one of the “100 Greatest NHL Players” in 2017.
