Who is Blake Zeff? Blake Zeff is a well-known American journalist who’s been a writer and editor for some of the nation’s prominent publications including Vice, BuzzFeed, and Salon. Zeff also regularly appeares on cable news on TV and radio as host & commentator, such as MSNBC’s “The Cycle,” Sirius XM, CNN/HLN and NY1. He’s been titled “Mr. New York politics,” as well as “one of the smartest observers” of politics & media.

With a career spanning government, journalism and television/film, Blake Zeff is known for his pioneering work in media, creative content and strategic communications. His work has explored topics such as the student loan crisis in the United States, NYPD’s stop-and-register practice, homelessness, public corruption, poverty, wrong convictions, and economic division within the Democratic Party.

Zeff is the director and producer of the upcoming film LOAN WOLVES, a feature film investigating the origins and effects of the student debt crisis in the United States. Scheduled for late 2020, the film takes viewers on a fun adventure across the country as Zeff investigates which politician quietly sneaked through a dark law that set the crisis in motion and ultimately unmasks and confronts the unimaginable culprit.

As a journalist, Zeff created and presented an innovative mini-research documentary highlighting a water poisoning scandal in Hoosick Falls, New York, as well as the state government’s subsequent cover-up. After the complaint was published, state hearings were convened to investigate the government’s response. He also created viral character Carl Diggler, a fictional political expert who shed light on the media coverage of American politics. The parody franchise stormed the media world during the 2016 presidential election, attracting profiles everywhere, from the New Yorker to the Washington Post, with a television series currently in development.

He has also written and edited for some of the country’s best-known publications, such as Vice, BuzzFeed and Salon, and his writings on New York policy for Capital New York resulted in several exclusive reports and influential columns, which led to him being called “Mr. New York Politics.”

As a well-known tv and radio presenter and commentator, Zeff has appeared regularly on cable news, where he frequently featured MSNBC’s “The Cycle” as well as Sirius XM, CNN/HLN and NY1.

As a strategic communications expert, Zeff had a front-row seat for the highest levels of government and U.S. campaigns. For more than a decade. He was a senior adviser to the Capitol in the United States Senate for three years and senior policy and communications adviser to the New York Attorney General’s Office, where he developed and directed his Office of Conviction Review, described by the New York Times as “the first state initiative by a law enforcement agency to address possible wrong convictions.” He also worked as a communications strata for two presidential campaigns and numerous nonprofits. For his work in strategic campaign communications, he was hailed on a profile by the New York Daily News as a “secret election weapon.”
